Christmastime at the Fish Store

One of the boys’ favorite hangouts is the fish store. They love to walk through the store, looking in the giant fish tank and at all the “stuffed” animals placed around. And I’m pretty fond of it too, since in the summer, unlike the park, the store is air-conditioned.

During December, a portion of the store was transformed into Santa’s wonderland. As diehard fans of the fish store, we had to go check it out. (I don’t know who was more excited, the boys or Tom’pa!)

Of course, the big man was there with ample lap and picture-taking elves, but none of the boys seemed really excited to talk to Santa. They were however really excited with the other activities at his wonderland:

Foam bow shooter area

Firing range (complete with A Christmas Story playing on a loop)

Model trains and radio controlled trucks (look closely… I think this may be the only picture of Grandma we got the whole trip)

And as always, there were the fish and the animals to see.

Nicholas got so excited that he took a header into a big rock beside the fish tank. Nothing like having a huge, black & blue goose-egg on your forehead for the multitude of pictures that are snapped around the holidays!

What fun! It's great to find a free place to go where everyone gets so engaged in fun activities! Poor Cole, but it didn't slow him down! We oldsters should take a lesson in that - enjoy life so much that aches and pains don't matter!!
