Party Animal

Our resident naturalist is turning six. It seemed only fitting to celebrate his birthday (a bit early) at the zoo. Especially since we didn’t get to make our yearly Christmas Eve pilgrimage last month.

Afterward, we headed home to open presents and have some cake and ice cream.

Although he asked for a chocolate cake with strawberry filling, strawberry icing, and his name spelled out in chocolate chips on top, I think he was a bit embarrassed that the translation of that wish into reality resulted in a pink cake.
