House Hunting

In theory, house hunting sounds great. You get to look at a ton of beautiful homes, weigh the goods and betters about each, and then struggle to pick your favorite. The kids also thought it sounded awesome! They informed us that Tom’pa would probably have the perfect gun to take with us when we went :)

But in actuality, house hunting is not much fun at all. It’s spending days in the car, driving from ugly house to ugly house to really ugly house. It’s being afraid that you’ll never find anything that will work. It’s staying up all night pouring over MLS listings, lowering your standards in the hope of finding something mediocre at best , and then waking up bright and early to do the whole thing over again.

At least the kids have been managing to have some fun.

And, in the end, we were able to find something we think will work for us. We put in an offer today and will hope for the best. There were a number of things about the house that will be sacrifices. But there are many other things that are wonderful too. And if we end up in this house, I’m sure we’ll be able to make it into our home in no time.

It was grueling for you, and you're not completely satisfied right now...but you will be!
I almost felt guilty having so much fun while you were struggling so! mamasmama
