The Sights of Spring – A Photo Documentary

Here in Texas, they say we experience winter – about a week of it. We also get a brief spring and a few weeks that might pass as fall before we get thrust into the perpetual summer that reigns in these parts.

Confession: I miss the cooler weather. I miss the snow. Not that it hasn’t been nice walking from the car to a store in shirt sleeves in the middle of January. But I do long for a little more winter than we get here.

However, I understand the feelings that many of you are currently experiencing. You’ve got spring fever. You want to see a color other than white, off white or dull winter-dead-things brown. I feel for you (having been there myself in the past) and so I’ve compiled a few photos to share.

We’re currently enjoying the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it period of Texas spring. So for those of you stuck in cooler, more wintry parts, this post is for you. Enjoy these sights of spring:

the first peach blossom

a growing garden

some spring cleaning

a few bloomin’ onions

a yellow rose of texas

stopping to smell the flowers

Happy (early) spring.

I like the bloomin' onion reference. Yours look very low fat.

I love your spring cleaning crew, so handsome and obviously very competent!
And thank you SO much for the birthday wish and a quote that made me smile so wide my lip wrinkles smoothed out! (Time marches on and sooner or later you realize it is marchin' across your face).

How beautiful! I love spring, and I cannot wait to see the first blossoms on our cherry and apricot trees. Thanks for sharing the great pictures!

I love the pics! I wish it would stop raining here so spring could come!
