To Grandfather’s House We Go

After opening stockings and presents on Christmas morning with Grandma, Tom’pa, and Aunt Karen, we loaded up our trusty minivan and headed to Grandpa Keysa’s house. A civil-war era farm house nestled in the country amidst snow-covered hills with a huge wood burning fireplace in the living room, his house has always epitomized Christmas to me. It was so good to spend another one there.

We may not have had internet access while we were there, but we did have a terrific time. We went sledding and tobogganing, opened more presents, and bunked out as a family sleepover-style in front of the fire. My kids were amazed that the fire would burn “all night long!” (I think they would have been slightly less impressed had they discovered Grandpa, Dad, or Mom Wood Elf stoking said fire at three in the morning :)

Thanks to Dad, Judy, Sam, and Tommy for showing us a wonderful few days.
