I entered the blogging universe late last year. I had my own blog, briefly, and came in contact with several other bloggers around that time. Since then, I’ve become mildly obsessed. I’m a regular visitor to a few blogs and keep tabs on many others.
But since I officially began blogging again last month, I’ve gotten really bad. I find myself running upstairs to the computer multiple (multiples of multiple) times a day. I check my blog, other blogs, and ponder what to blog about next.
This “obsession” of mine suits my boys just fine. They got a tent for Christmas which we’ve pitched in the playroom, upstairs. And since turning the spare bedroom, upstairs, into a fort using a loft bed and some old blankets, they would usually rather be upstairs than anywhere else in the house. We have an ultra-secure child gate at the top of the stairs and there’s nothing up here that could really hurt them (besides each other), so I feel relatively safe letting them roam free (or at least, mildly supervised).
But the real reason to rejoice ? Weight loss. *Nothing about this theory is medically or scientifically proven. But that’s never stopped the diet industry before, has it? I feel safe to proceed.
Being upstairs on the computer so much has proven to be beneficial to my health. Upstairs, I’m a whole floor away from the fridge. It’s not that easy to just “grab something.” And when we do go downstairs, we’re usually going for a reason, which again thwarts my natural snacking tendencies. Now I’m pretty much only in the kitchen to make meals or get the boys a snack. So, my conclusion: blog to lose weight.
Another reason to blog (as if we needed an excuse): fame and recognition.
