This, of course, being a relative statement.Alexander had a meeting tonight, so I’m home with the kids. Before he left he told me to enjoy my quiet night at home. I’m not sure wrangling two squirming children into bed all by one’s lonesome exactly qualifies as a “quiet night.” But it’s the thought that counts, right?
After much squirming (and only a few tears – they really don’t like going to bed without Daddy here), I’m happy to report that my two little ones are in bed and hopefully well on their way to their respective dreamlands. And this leaves me with an hour or so “alone.” So what’s a mom to do?
Why… blog, of course. But apparently my site is inaccessible at the moment. And so my night is ruined. I jest. I’m sure I will be able to come up with something to occupy my time. It just may take awhile for me to think of anything.
In case this ever happens again, what do you do to occupy your probably-as-rare-as-mine moments sans spouse and kids (or with kids that are sleeping)? I look forward to reading your responses. If I can ever get this to post…

I love that picture.
I would probably blog or read a book or take a bath!

I'm with you, Mary. I love a good bath. Preferably one where I'm not in charge of cleansing two slippery bundles of bathtime energy (my two sons, lest anyone be confused)! Something more along the lines of bubbles and relaxing.
Cook something for the next day. I have never done this, but doesn't it sound like a good idea? Only if wine is involved. ;)
I usually veg out and watch TV if Blogger is uncooperative or I've had enough 'net for the evening.
It's one of my only remaining vices now that I'm nursing!
Nice blog, btw!
Well, I could either take the much needed "poop" I've postponed for a week (oops, dirty laundry, sorry) or the shower that I'm in desperate need of; but more than likely blogging is the best alternative.
